Each NW SEA-Shell™ jacket is made from approximately 88 recovered plastic bottles. Designed in the United States and produced in Europe through our partnership with the SEAQUAL Initiative®.

Marine Plastic Recovery
Plastic waste is recovered from marine and coastal environments through certified cleanup programs.

SEAQUAL® Yarn Creation
Recovered polyethylene terephthalate (PET), the plastic widely used in beverage bottles is shredded, cleaned, and converted into SEAQUAL® Marine Plastic pellets then spun into premium yarn in Europe.

Fabric & Jacket Production
The yarn is transformed into fabric and hand-crafted into NW jackets in small-batch facilities in Portugal, where ethical labor and low-waste production are prioritized. Every stitch reflects our commitment to quality, functionality, and sustainability.

Measured Impact
Each NW Sea-Shell™ Jacket is produced using SEAQUAL® yarn and manufactured in Europe under some of the world’s most rigorous environmental and social standards.
Through a certified Life Cycle Assessment with bottom-up calculations, this process results in 37% lower CO₂ emissions, 34% less water consumption, and 40% less energy use compared to conventional polyester outerwear. All materials are GRS and OEKO-TEX® certified, ensuring verified traceability and responsible production from yarn to the finished product.

Distribution
From Europe to the U.S., each NW jacket follows a tracked, low-impact route. Our logistics partners help ensure the supply chain remains visible from origin to arrival — keeping our promise of traceability.
