Noire Waters Appoints Captain Steve Baynes as Master Captain and Lead Nautical Strategist

 

Washington, D.C. — August 19, 2024 — Noire Waters is excited to announce

Captain Steve Baynes as our new Master Captain and Lead Nautical Strategist.

In this role, Captain Baynes will oversee vessel operations, manage mechanical

strategy, and support the continued growth of the Noire Waters fleet globally.

A Washington, D.C. native and graduate of the United States Coast Guard

Academy, Captain Baynes brings over 35 years of maritime experience. He

holds a 100-ton Coast Guard Maritime License (Captain’s License) and has led

missions worldwide, including search and rescue and disaster response, notably

as the first responder along the Mississippi and Louisiana coasts after

Hurricane Katrina.

Post-retirement, Captain Baynes co-founded Exile Boat Charters, promoting boat safety and maritime education. His commitment to underserved communities is evident through his work with the youth and the founding of a nonprofit summer camp for children from unhoused families.
